SALT’s music is a unique rendition of progressive punk rock music. The band is distinct among its contemporaries– Pink Floyd, Cardiacs, and U2 as Salt dawns on a modern punk (munk). Salt’s rising munk genre projects what mainstream defines as high caliber art music.

Get ready for breathtaking dive into munk. Brace yourself for the dawn of SALT band in the world.

Salt “attempts to lure you on a journey of sounds that allows your imagination to delight in a tapestry of color and flavor encapsulating music influences from both past and present”.

Salt, true to its name, offers you a taste of well-blended munk with a mark of ingenuity.
Perfect to the last note; this group is more than crafting rhythms, also reinventing what progressive rock can offer to the world.

Their first album, Radio Station, is an awe-inspiring outthrust of munk in its fusion with blues and dance rhythms. It is a promising start for a band, venturing into an original genre.

Composed of Brett McGuigan (Bass/Vocals/Song writer), Mike Nelson (Lead and Rhythm Guitar/ Backing Vocals), Luke Cooke (Drums/ Backing Vocals), and Rachael Jane (Keys), the band goes far in introducing their music mainstream and into the world. Feel the groove, live the beat, join the new movement of progressive rock in its new taste. Salt– the new munk to season the mainstream.

Salt assembled as a band in September 2010 in Christchurch New Zealand to produce unique munk music. The band has more than a decade of experience composing songs and performing live in Christchurch. Their promising talent captured the senses of Voodoo Recording Studios and Sunset Records, helping them bring you the album, “Radio Station”.

Salt is set to release a second album, “the Greenman” soon. Heed to this breathtaking munk phenomenon, the anticipated revolution of progressive rock in full season.
